NACFE and Ampcontrol Release Smart Charging Report for Electric Truck Depots

New York, NY, April 28, 2025 — The North America Council for Freight Efficiency (NACFE) and Ampcontrol are proud to release the report Smart Charging for Electric Depots, a joint document that discusses one of the most urgent questions in fleet electrification: How can commercial fleets scale electric trucks efficiently, affordably, and reliably?

Building on findings from Run on Less – Electric DEPOT, which tracked over 250 electric trucks in real-world fleet operations. The report outlines how smart charging and energy management systems can unlock fleet scalability by:

• Reducing infrastructure and operational costs.
• Managing demand charges and TOU rates.
• Integrating solar, battery storage, and telematics for resilience.
